![]() ![]() However, remember that for all-round wintertime traction and performance, dedicated winter tires like the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2 remain the standard. (Or that the qualification isn't pending.) The REVO 3 doesn't follow this trend, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the tire is incapable of meeting the requirements. Given the way the REVO 3 manages loose sediment, we expect deep snow traction to be reasonably strong.Ī spate of modern all-terrain tires have qualified for the 3-peak mountain snowflake symbol, which is an indication that a tire meets the industry's severe snow traction performance requirements. Unfortunately, (well, fortunately if we're to be honest) we didn't have an opportunity to test the REVO 3 in snow this time around.Īs previously mentioned, the REVO 3's Traction Claw™ Technology is claimed to advance traction in loose off-road conditions and snow. The increased treadlife warranty underscores a clear commitment to long-term use and durability. Groove Stepping and other REVO 3 tread advancements are expected to produce superior mileage. This mileage warranty is +10,000 as compared to the outgoing REVO 2, and in line with the very best mileage warranties currently offered in the all-terrain tire category. The REVO 3 is backed by a 60,000 mile treadlife warranty (excludes LT-spec sizes). In the case of our Trailhawk, however, no fuel efficiency penalty has been experienced. Like on the subject of comfort, Bridgestone's tire performance ratings indicate that the REVO 3 will not match road-focused tire alternatives for fuel efficiency. With the Goodyears as the reference point we experienced no drop in mpg after fitting the REVO 3. The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk comes equipped with Goodyear all-terrain tires, which achieve very respectable mpg numbers. The bulkier tread blocks and off-road tread characteristics create increased rolling resistance, and therefore lesser fuel economy. ![]() Otherwise, when these wear, I'll be going to something else in a more pure all terrain.All-terrain tires typically require some compromise in fuel efficiency. ![]() These tires are ok and about as I expected. Thankfully, one took a really nasty rock that gouged my wheel pretty bad, but no damage to the tire. I also did not notice, prior to buying, they have absolutely no rim guard or protection. Tread depth even new is a bit shallow, but wear has been even and minimal. They did ok on the trails around here, but when our clay is wet no tire is "great" and ATRAC covers up some of the shortcomings. To me, they are more of an all season (except for the hydroplaning) vs an all terrain. They also hold stones/pebbles in the tread. I have noticed they really hydroplane when encountering standing water - a few times they've scared the s**t out of me. They are excellent onroad in dry conditions, very quiet and great grip. I've been running these tires in 255/75r17 Load Range C, 34-36psi for several thousand miles. just my 2 cents if people are interested in these tires. I haven't done any rock crawling or extreme mudding so I'm sure there are limits to these tires but for a tire that doesn't look that aggressive, they seem to do well in most conditions. I was actually more impressed with the tires than the 4wd system and would recommend them to people who daily drive them as they are pretty quiet for an AT tire on dry pavements. At one point I was certain I was stuck but when I gave it gas in 4H just to see what happens, the car's ATRAC system kicked and I was out. The road that I took was called chowchilla mountain road near wawona and due to recent snow/rain, there were lot of muddy sections. I was cross-shopping with KO2s and I know KO2's capabilities having driven them on my friend's land cruisers. I figured since I'll be driving them mostly on the road and occasionally off-road, why not get a tire that performs better on dry. I mainly purchased them because they were on sale at Costco and were highly rated in rain and dry roads. When I purchased this tire, I couldn't really find much information other than 1 comprehensive video from and one other guy who had it on a 4Runner. I recently replaced the michelin LTX tires with Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo3 and took it on a trail near yosemite for a weekend ride (car is on 2" dobinsons lift). ![]()
